Description

Inhibitor of DNA binding (ID) proteins are members of the helix-loop-helix (HLH) family of proteins which lack a DNA binding domain themselves but bind to other family members inhibiting their DNA binding capacity. This family of proteins is comprised of IDs 1, 2, 3 and 4. They can be stimulated by ligands such as the Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF), TGF beta and the T cell receptor. GenMAPP notes
NetPath 5; cellmap:5 - Id Signaling Pathway

The Id Signaling Pathway was kindly reviewed by Jonathan Perk and other members of Robert Benezra’s lab. This cancer signaling pathway is available at Cancer Cell Map (http://cancer.cellmap.org) and NetPath (http://www.netpath.org) and is part of a collaborative project between the Computational Biology Center at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (http://cbio.mskcc.org), PandeyLab at Johns Hopkins University (http://pandeylab.igm.jhmi.edu) and Institute of Bioinformatics (http://www.ibioinformatics.org). If you use this pathway, you must cite the Cancer Cell Map and NetPath websites until the pathway is published.
