Though this is a neuroanatomical pathway, it does fit into the basic description of what WikiPathways is. "WikiPathways is an open, public platform dedicated to the curation of biological pathways...". Surely the basal ganglia encompasses an anatomical signaling pathway of interest to biologists. If WikiPathways should be restricted to biochemical signaling pathways, that should be indicated more clearly. On the up side, this is a creative and potentially useful way to make additional use of the WikiPathways infrastructure. I could imagine having a molecular pathways area and an anatomical pathways area. Just my 2c.

You'll notice the "Proposed for Deletion" tag on the pathway. I added that 4 days ago and it sets a timer of 5 days for the author to respond before it is deleted from the collection. I agree with your assessments: it doesn't fit into the current focus, but may be nice to support a broader definition of pathways in the future. Thanks for the comments!
