This is very simplified- for instance linoleoyl CoA desaturase doesn't work on linolenic acid, but on linoleoylCoA
Pathway https://www.wikipathways.org/index.php/Pathway:WP4350 details arachidonic acid synthesis in more detail, though not with bishomo LA as an on-pathway metabolite to arachidonic acid.
