Leptin Signaling Pathway Leptin, the product of obesity gene, LEP plays a key role in body weight homeostasis. It binds to its receptor, LEPR, a member of gp130 family of cytokine receptors. Binding of Leptin to its receptor, LEPR induces various signaling modules such as JAK/STAT, RAS/RAF/MAPK, IRS/PI-3K, PLC-gamma and AMPK/ACC.
